A smooth country baritone and songwriter rooted in the 1980s Lone Star Café scene, Attila delivers “true, pure, Bakersfield/California-Country.” Now based in Northern California, he leads a seasoned band of A-list players bringing his original songs and Merle Haggard-inspired sound to life.
🎶 Rob Clot – Pedal Steel Guitar
A true country music lifer, Rob once led a band named Ramblin’ Fever and knows the genre inside and out. Offstage, he works in Hollywood special effects with an extensive IMDB resume.
🎸 Sam Smiley – Lead Guitar
Telecaster master and jazz scholar Sam hails from the Chicago scene and literally wrote the book on Roy Nichols-style fingerpicking. As the band’s original lead guitarist, his vintage tones and sharp licks are back and better than ever.
🎸 Simon Planting – Bass
Dutch-born Simon Planting is one of the world’s top Gypsy jazz bassists, with an elite international resume including DjangoFest NW and collaborations with legends like Bill Frisell and John Jorgenson. He brings unmatched groove and artistry to The Bakersfield Boys.
🥁 Craig Manrique – Drums
Bay Area rock veteran Craig powered bands like Acid Hicks and The Unauthorized Rolling Stones before turning his attention to high-caliber Honky Tonk. His dynamic drumming is the heartbeat of The Bakersfield Boys’ driving sound.
